Two men have been charged after a quantity of drugs, a firearm and explosives were found in a van.
David Horner, 51, of Hopgarth Walk, Newton Heath has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a firearm with the intent to endanger life.
Joseph Grey, 54, of Hopgarth Walk, Newton Heath has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a firearm with the intent to endanger life and two counts of possession with the intent to supply Class B drugs.
The charges are in relation to an investigation into organised crime in Greater Manchester.
At around 8.45pm on Wednesday 30 January, armed officers stopped a vehicle on Oldham Road, near to the junction of Droylsden Road in Newton Heath.
During the operation police found a firearm and explosives inside, along with a quantity of drugs. A house was also searched on Hopgarth Walk, Newton Heath as part of the investigation.
A 51-year-old woman was also arrested and has been released under investigation.
