Police are investigating the death of a young woman in Seacroft after she was found at a bus shelter on Wednesday morning.
At 5.03am yesterday police were called to a bus shelter in South Parkway, Seacroft, where the 19-year-old woman had been found unconscious by a member of the public.
She was taken to hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Crime scene investigation teams attended the scene, with police closing the road at the bus stop, which is near to the junction with Ironwood View.
A large police cordon remained in place around the bus shelter on South Parkway until 11.30am, at which point the road was reopened and buses resumed their normal routes.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the woman’s death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.
