Police have confirmed the identity of a woman who died following a road traffic collision with a lorry in Heckmondwike.
Jean Hepworth, who was 69 and from Liversedge, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, which happened at around 11.05am on Wednesday in Westgate.
The incident occurred after a DAF large goods vehicle collided with Ms Hepworth as she was crossing the road.
The HGV had been turning right from Westgate onto Market Street when it was in collision with her
Emergency services attended but she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Sergeant Martyn Burns of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “We are continuing to investigate this very serious collision which has sadly resulted in the death of the pedestrian involved.
“We would very much like to speak to anyone who saw or has dashcam footage of the collision or the lorry in the moments before it occurred.”
