Over 30 arrested in Bradford anti-disorder operation

More than 30 people were arrested in an operation to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in the Holme Wood area of Bradford.

Local officers teamed up with specialist resources from West Yorkshire Police for the five-day operation last week, which also saw six warrants executed, a quantity of drugs recovered, and three vehicles seized.

West Yorkshire Police said the operation was launched in response to concerns from local people and information suggesting there were tensions in the area following recent instances of disorder.

34 arrests were made during the operation, which resulted in 14 people being charged with offences.

Inspector Shelley Slarke, who leads the Bradford South Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We would like to thank the public for sharing their concerns with us and hope this operation has reassured them that we do take these matters seriously.

“Disorder will not be tolerated and we will continue to work with our specialist resources and partners to tackle those who intimidate the law-abiding community with their criminal and anti-social behaviour.”
