Morley bank robbed by masked armed men

A group of armed masked men robbed a bank in Morley.

Just after 12.40pm on Wednesday, 13 September, officers were called to Lloyds Bank, on Queen Street, following several calls from members of the public reporting a robbery.

Three men, who had their faces covered with white masks and were armed with an axe and what was described as a long-barrelled firearm, had entered the bank and threatened staff before stealing a quantity of cash.

They left the scene in a grey Audi SQ5 which was parked outside the bank and driven by a fourth suspect.

Enquiries have shown that the vehicle was stolen in a burglary in South Yorkshire on 2 September.
