A man who messaged a group of paedophile hunters in the belief he was in fact talking with a 12-year-old girl has been spared jail.
23-year old Kasim Ali, Falmouth Street, Oldham, a former member of staff at North Manchester General Hospital, admitted attempting to incite a child under the age of 13 into non-penetrative sexual activity and attempting to engage in sexual activity in the presence of a child.
Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court heard how Mr Ali had bragged about his job, saying he worked as an audiologist and that he had ‘access to children’.
He was handed a three-year community order, made a subject of a sexual harm prevention order and must take part in a special sex offender treatment programme.
