Man stabbed in third attempted Manchester carjacking

Greater Manchester Police are investigating three attempted car jackings in the space of two days following online dating app meetings.

At around 5.45pm on Tuesday 26 March, a man in his 20s was threatened in his car on Bolton Road in Pendlebury by a man he had met up with earlier in the afternoon via an online dating app.

The offender – who was a passenger in the car – threatened the man as they were parked on the roadside and demanded he hand over his car keys before stabbing him several times.

The attacker then fled the scene on foot in the direction of Birch Drive towards High Bank Road.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries and he remains there for treatment.

This incident is being linked to two other carjacking attempts that occurred on Monday 25 March in Irlams o’ th’ Height, Salford and Prestwich.
