Man dies on motorway embankment near Brighouse

An appeal has been launched following the death of a man on a motorway embankment near to Brighouse.

Police were called shortly after 2.00pm on Tuesday 2 January to the M62 east bound, just before the exit slip road for Junction 25, following a concern for safety after an articulated skip wagon was reported to have been stationary at the location with its engine running.

On attendance, officers found the body of a man in his 40s, the driver of the vehicle, on the embankment nearby. He was treated by paramedics but was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The family of the deceased have been informed.

West Yorkshire Police say officers are working to determine the circumstances of what took place but there is not believed to be any third-party involvement at this time.
