A man has been arrested after a woman was raped in Trafford.
A 44-year-old man was arrested in the Stretford area on suspicion of rape on Friday (7 April 2017). He remains in custody for questioning.
The arrest is in relation to a rape that took place sometime between 3:10am and 3:15am on Tuesday 4 April 2017.
A 44-year-old woman came into contact with the suspect on Warwick Road in Trafford when the man crossed the road and beckoned the woman into the car park at Warwick House.
When she refused, the man dragged her into the car park and raped her.
Detective Inspector Carl Gilbert of GMP’s Trafford borough said: “This has been a fast moving investigation and earlier today we arrested a man in the Stretford area on suspicion of rape. He will be questioned by detectives later today, however our investigation does not stop there and we are continuing to carry out significant enquiries as we move forward. I would continue to ask anybody who believes they may have information that can help us to please come forward.”
