Historic England has opposed proposals for traffic calming measures in Saltaire.
Bradford Council has been forced to go back to the drawing board after the initial plan to introduce speed cushions on Caroline Street was blocked.
The installation was part of plans to mitigate any traffic issues caused by the changes to the Saltaire Roundabout.
However, Saltaire’s status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site has halted the scheme - with Historic England claiming the measures would “adversely affect the character” of the village.
