Foreign Investors Attracted To Bradford

Bradford is said to be reaping the benefits of increased foreign investment in the region.

The latest EY Attractiveness Survey - a study carried out by international auditors Ernst & Young to measure how attractive a location is to investors - has revealed that Yorkshire and Humberside has had more foreign investment projects than any year since 1997.

A record 83 projects were recorded, eight of which were in Bradford (the rest were in Leeds, Hull, Sheffield, Barnsley, Wakefield and Rotherham). For the region this represents a 69 per cent increase in foreign investment since 2014.

The majority of the investments made by Bradford-based companies were on expansion projects.
Coun Susan Hinchcliffe, Leader of Bradford Council, said: "This is fantastic news for the district and proves that Bradford has a place on the global map for businesses wanting to set up in the UK. We have the benefits of affordable properties and attractive locations. It is also great for our economy in creating hundreds of jobs for the district. Our Invest in Bradford Team is providing valuable support to help these businesses set up here."
