A man who fled the scene of a collision in Bradford leaving a motorcyclist with fatal injuries has been jailed.
Conor Stott-Webster was jailed for 15 months at Bradford Crown Court yesterday after he pleaded guilty to causing the death of John Naylor in a collision in Cottingley Road in October 2018.
Stott-Webster, 25, of Springhead Road, Thornton, was driving a silver Ford Focus towards Cottingley on 3 October last year when he collided with 30-year-old Mr Naylor, who was riding a grey Yamaha bike.
He was then in collision with a Volkswagen Polo before fleeing the scene, leaving Mr Naylor with injuries which sadly proved to be fatal.
Stott-Webster appeared at Bradford Crown Court last month, where he pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving, dangerous driving, driving while uninsured and doing so otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
Regarding the sentence, Sergeant Fiona Allan of the Major Collision Enquiry Team said: “Our sympathies remain with Mr Naylor’s family and I hope they can find some comfort in this outcome.
“I also hope Stott-Webster uses his time in prison to think about his actions on that night and the irreparable damage they have caused.”
