16 year old Boy, charged with murder

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of teenager Irfan Wahid from Leeds.

Irfan was found by officers with a stab wound in Harehills Lane at around 3.45pm on Friday 10^th February 2017. He was taken to hospital for treatment but sadly died shortly after. A post-mortem examination conducted on Sunday confirmed the cause of Irfan's death as a single stab wound to the chest.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said "Detectives investigating Irfans death have charged a 16-year-old boy with the murder and possession of a bladed article."

Officials are unable to disclose the identity of the suspect due to his age.

Irfan’s friends have arranged a peaceful vigil on Harehills lane where the incident took place at 3pm on Thursday 16^th February.
