Max Verstappen beat Lewis Hamilton to win the Malaysian Grand Prix.
The 20-year-old Dutchman took control of the race early on and opened up a seven second gap in 10 laps over Hamilton. Despite apparent neck muscle problems towards the end of the race Verstappen took the win in what has been a season plagued by reliability problems and driver errors.
Hamilton has extended his points lead in the championship over nearest rival Sebastian Vettel. The German had to start from the back of the grid due to engine troubles in qualifying but impressively came through the field to finish fourth.
However, it was not enough to trouble title leader Hamilton. The Briton has gone 34 points ahead with five races to go and a maximum of 125 points still available.
