Its official, 55 year old former England Manager Steve McClaren, has been sacked as Derby County manager.
The former Newcastle boss returned to Derby in October last year for his second season in charge following the departure of Nigel Pearson.
Club officials have released a statement which highlighted the reason behind the decision being due to a “persistent decline in results, team unity and morale”.
The chairman, Mel Morris, said “Steve is a great coach, we have very talented players and first class facilities but the heartbeat, commitment, focus and passion has been lacking something fundamental.”
