Rob Cross beat retiring Phil Taylor to claim the PDC World Championship title.
Taylor, a 16-time world champion, was defeated 7-2 by Cross in front of a raucous Alexandra Palace crowd.
Cross, 27, who only turned professional at the start of 2017, hit a 167 to go 2-0 up and was soon three sets ahead.
He won the tournament with a flourish, taking out a 140 finish.
In a tribute to Phil “The Power” Taylor’s monumental impact on the world of darts, Cross allowed the veteran to lift the trophy one last time before leaving the sport for good.
