A moto2 rider has been sacked from his team after he pulled on his rival’s brakes whilst travelling at 135mph during a race.
Romano Fenati was disqualified and banned for two racers by MotoGP officials at the race in San Marino.
The Marinelli Snipers Team has since cancelled the 22-year-old’s contract and he has lost his ride at Forward Racing next season.
Italian compatriot Stefano Manzi momentarily lost balance but was able to regain control of his vehicle.
Fenati has publicly apologised: "I apologise to the whole sports world. This morning, with a clear mind, I wish it had been just a bad dream,
"I think back to those moments, I made a disgraceful gesture, I was not a man.
"The criticisms are correct and I understand the resentment towards me. I want to apologise to everyone who believed in me and all those who felt hurt by my actions."
