The FA has charged Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso over a challenge on Southampton player Shane Long.
The incident took place during Chelsea’s 3-2 win at Saint Mary’s on Saturday. The Spaniard appeared to stand on the back of Long's calf in the first half.
The 27-year-old now faces missing the FA Cup semi-final against the same opponents at Wembley on Sunday if the charge is upheld.
He has until 6.00pm on Wednesday to respond.
