Liverpool dominate Ballon d'Or nominees list

    France Football have announced the 30-man shortlist for the 2019 Ballon d'Or award.

    European champions, Liverpool, were the team with the most nominees on the list with seven players making the cut, while there were also five Manchester City players nominated, as well as two from Tottenham Hotspur and one from Arsenal

    Those shortlisted for the award, and their clubs, are: 

    Ajax: Donny van de Beek, Dusan Tadic

    Arsenal: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

    Atletico Madrid: Joao Felix (formerly of Benfica)

    Barcelona: Antoine Griezmann (formerly of Atletico Madrid), Frenkie de Jong (formerly of Ajax), Lionel Messi, Marc-Andre ter Stegen

    Bayern Munich: Robert Lewandowski

    Juventus: Cristiano Ronaldo, Matthijs de Ligt (formerly of Ajax)

    Liverpool: Alisson Becker, Georginio Wijnaldum, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk

    Manchester City: Bernardo Silva, Kevin de Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Sergio Aguero

    Napoli: Kalidou Koulibaly

    Paris Saint Germain: Kylian Mbappe, Marquinhos

    Real Madrid: Eden Hazard (formerly of Chelsea), Karim Benzema

    Tottenham Hotspur: Hugo Lloris, Son Heung-min
