In an action-packed bank holiday weekend LCB Women secured one win out of a possible two to go third in the Royal London Women’s One-Day Championship Division 1.
The Lancashire county team made the long trip down to Canterbury for the first leg of their bank holiday double header and a game against defending champions Kent.
The visitors secured a victory over the champions after Kent were all out for 114 and an 84 run win was secured by LCB Women.
Hopes were high of a bank holiday double as LCB Women travelled across the south east to face Sussex at the brand new Aldridge Cricket Academy in Brighton on Monday, 29 May.
The game ended in somewhat a bizarre fashion as a thick mist rolled in over the ground and forced the players off. This was compounded by a sharp shower as the mist lifted and the game was abandoned with Sussex declared the winners on a faster run rate.
