All matches in the Greek Super League have been suspended indefinitely after the president of PAOK Salonika invaded the pitch armed with a gun.
Ivan Savvidis ordered his team to leave the pitch after the side had a late goal ruled out against AEK Athens. He then approached the referee with what appeared to be a gun in a holster underneath his coat.
AEK’s players left the pitch and the match was officially abandoned two hours later, after Savvidis was bundled away by bodyguards.
Deputy Sports Minister Giorgos Vasiliadis announced the suspension of all matches in the top flight, adding: "It won't start again unless there is a clear framework, agreed by all, to move forward with conditions and rules."
