Girls’ golf will be rocking again in Yorkshire when the successful campaign to inspire new young players returns in April.
It ran in Yorkshire for the first time last year and introduced over 60 girls to golf, through taster and coaching courses – and with the support of ambassadors from the county girls’ squad.
This year, the number of free taster sessions is being doubled to eight. They will take place at:
Rudding Park GC, Thursday 5th April, 11am – 1pm
Middlesbrough Municipal, Friday 6th April, 10am – 12 noon
Bedale GC, Friday 6th April, 4pm – 6pm
Oulton Hall GC, Saturday 7th April – 9am – 11am
Meltham GC, Saturday 7th April, 3pm – 5pm
Hessle GC , Sunday 8th April, 1pm – 3pm
Leeds Golf Centre (Wike Ridge) – Sunday 8th April, 10am – 12 noon
Abbeydale GC, Wednesday 11th April, 11am – 1pm
Girls Golf Rocks is a national campaign, run jointly by England Golf and the Golf Foundation, and it aims to increase the number of girl golfers from an average of just two full members per club. U.S Kids also provide 7-irons for the girls to use.
When Girls Golf Rocks ran in 15 counties last year over 850 girls had a go and more than 730 enjoyed it so much they went on to take coaching courses.
