A return to Merseyside may be pushed through for Wayne Rooney.
It is believed the Man Utd player is at an advanced stage of talks with his boyhood club.
The 31-year-old left Everton to join the Red Devils in 2004 for £27m. The all-time record goal-scorer for both Man Utd and England only started 15 Premier League games last season.
Rooney has said repeatedly that he would not leave Old Trafford for any Premier League team other than Everton.
It is unclear however if the Toffees will match his £250,000 a year salary.
