England’s penalty woes against Germany continue

The England football team’s penalty woes against Germany continue to plague the nation.

It was a case of ‘same old story’ as the Three Lions were denied a place in the European Under-21 Championship final, losing against Germany on penalties in a gripping semi-final.

Julian Pollersbeck saved Nathan Redmond's spot-kick, sending the Germans through in Poland.

Germany will face Spain - who beat Italy 3-1 - in Friday's final in Krakow.

The England side were unable to replicate the success of the Under-20s, who won the World Cup on the 11 June, after beating Venezuela 1-0 in South Korea.
