England Golf will bid to regain senior crown

England will bid to regain their crown when the Senior Women’s Home Internationals is played next week on home ground at Burnham & Berrow, Somerset.

The team, captained by Debbie Richards (Burhill, Surrey) is: Julie Brown from Staffordshire, Aileen Greenfield from Sussex, Jackie Foster from Hertfordshire, Karen Jobling from Yorkshire, Helen Lowe from Leicestershire, Cath Rawthore from Cheshire and Sue Spencer from Staffordshire.

England have dominated the Senior Women’s Home Internationals since it started in 2003, winning the Sue Johnson Trophy 10 times. Most recently the team had three consecutive wins from 2014, but that run of success was ended last year by Ireland.

The round robin competition against Scotland, Ireland and Wales, takes place from Tuesday to Thursday, 2-4 October.
