Daniel Sturridge charged with betting breach

Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge has been charged with breaching betting rules.

The 29-year-old has been charged by the Football Association with misconduct for alleged breaches in January this year.

He is accused of breaching one rule relating to betting on football, and one which covers providing information relating to football which has been "obtained by virtue of his position" and "is not publicly available".

The England international has been given until 6.00pm on Tuesday 20 November to respond to the charge.
