The Kazakh champions came apart in a thrilling display by Celtic, with the visitors even gifting their hosts two own-goals to add to the tally.
Sinclair netted two for the Hoops, with another coming from James Forrest.
The teams will meet again for the second leg on Tuesday, 22 August. For Astana – things can only get better.
