Is Mahira Khan’s Verna to be banned in Pakistan?

Mahira Khan courted trouble for no fault of hers when her picture with Ranbir Kapoor went viral.

People felt obliged to troll her. Ranbir has been keeping in touch with her to tide over this phase when everyone was busy slamming her.

But here comes yet another issue. Her film Verna is facing extreme opposition in Pakistan. There are reports that the film, which is about a rape survivor who fights for justice, is likely to be banned.

Although reports suggest that the Censor Board twill watch the film and take a decision, the fact that there is even a doubt in their mind regarding its release has Twitter fuming.

Many can’t believe such a thing would even be possible. While speaking to IMAGES, CBFC Chairman Mobashir Hasan said, “As of now, the final decision [about Verna] is yet to be taken as per Censorship of Film Rules 1980.”

Shoaib Mansoor, director of the film, apparently issued a statement which has him appealing to the board to let the film release. The film stars Mahira Khan, Haroon Shahid and Zarrar Khan in main roles. And while the makers are doing everything in their power to get the film released on November 17, Twitter is enraged!
