Woman dies on railway tracks in Burley-in-Wharfedale

British Transport Police have released a statement following a fatality on railway tracks on the Ilkley-Menston line.

Officers were called to Burley-in-Wharfedale station on Sunday morning (10 March) to reports of a casualty on the tracks.

A woman in her 60s was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

The statement said: "Officers were called to Burley-in-Wharfedale station at 9.56am following reports of casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended, but sadly a woman aged in her 60s was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
