Police investigating an incident where a man was hit with a baseball bat as he tried to stop a fight in Keighley have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
The 26-year-old man was walking along Temple Street at about 4am on Saturday, 6 February, when he saw a group of males fighting in the street.
As he attempted to stop the fight he was struck on the head, causing swelling and concussion which needed hospital treatment.
PC Sam Newnham, of Keighley Police, who is investigating the incident, said:
"We are particularly keen to speak to the woman who called for an ambulance, as well as any of the four people who stopped to help the victim as they may have vital information about the people who were involved.
"The victim suffered head injuries in this attack which may prove to be life changing, so it is important that we find out and take action against those responsible."
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC 56 Newnham at Keighley Police on 101, quoting crime reference 13160053855 or report anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
