University of Bradford Students Exposed To Highest Levels Of Crime In Region According To Guide

Yorkshire and the Humber’s safest and higher-risk university neighbourhoods for student-relevant crimes are revealed today by TheCompleteUniversityGuide.co.uk.

Students at the University of Bradford are exposed to the highest levels of crime in the region, by a significant margin, with the Leeds College of Art and Leeds Beckett University in second and third place respectively.

Compiled from official police data,TheCompleteUniversityGuide.co.uk ranking gives the crime rates for the most common offences burglary, robbery and violence and sexual crimes affecting students at almost 130 universities and other higher education institutions in England and Wales.

University of York students face by far the lowest levels of crime in Yorkshire and the Humber, with the University of Sheffield in second place and Leeds Trinity University a distant third.

York students are the least exposed to student-relevant crime of any in England and Wales.

The University of Bradford (at 5th) does make the top ten for crime rates in student-populated areas.

A spokesman for the University of Bradford told reporters: “The University, and the city, remains a very popular destination for students from across the UK and the world, and we work hard to ensure the safety of our students on campus.”
