A taxi driver who preyed on Leeds female students sexually assaulting one victim in her own home has been given an extended prison sentence of fifteen years and faces deportation back to Pakistan.
Leeds Crown Court heard that taxi driver Amjad Farooq would try door handles in his efforts to target female students and managed to get into one victim’s home where he sexually assaulted her.
Farooq was again caught three months later trying to gain entry into properties after he had been chased out of another victim’s home.
Farooq, of Luxor View, Harehills, who pleaded guilty to two sexual assault offences and two of trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence was given an extended prison sentence totalling 15 years. He must serve a custodial period of 12 years, followed by a further three years on licence.
