A recent report has exposed the struggling state of health and social care in West Yorkshire.
According to figures released by the health watchdog, the Care Quality Commission, more than 40% of nursing and residential homes in Bradford and Calderdale have been graded as “inadequate” or “requiring improvement”.
In Leeds more than half of all nursing homes were rated as “poor”.
This comes as an investigation by the BBC discovered that over 90 social care workers quit their job every day in Yorkshire, with 60% leaving the sector entirely.
It is believed that staff shortages will mean lower levels of care will be provided
