STOP THE DANGER DRIVERS!

A COCAINE-fuelled driver who smashed into another vehicle while on the wrong side of the road in a police chase has been jailed for six months.

Kaddar Hussain, 30, of Owl Street, Lawkholme, Keighley attempted to escape on foot after being chased by the police but was caught after he slipped and fell. The case was reviewed at Bradford crown court evidence from the prosecution included results of a drug test where Hussain had tested positive for Cocaine after the crash.

Hussain pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and possession of the Class A drug. Prosecutor Clare Walsh said that “Hussain went at up to 50mph on the wrong side of the road smashing into another vehicle, writing off his car”. The court heard how Hussain had been convicted in 2006 of driving while unfit through drugs and in 2010, he was sentenced to a community order for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He also had a conviction for driving without insurance, when his licence was endorsed with eight penalty points, in April 2013.

The judge, Recorder Simon Batiste, along with the 6 month jail term has banned Hussain from driving for two years and three months.
