Police are appealing for witnesses to a firearms discharge in Bolton.
Shortly before midnight on Wednesday 11 July, police were called to Tattersall Avenue on the Johnson Fold estate to reports that shots had been fired outside a property on the street.
Officers attended and found evidence of a firearms discharge.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
Detective Inspector Ian Partington, of GMP’s Bolton borough, said: “I understand that incidents like this will cause some concern in the community however I want reassure local residents that we have a team of officers working to find those responsible.
“Thankfully nobody was injured during the incident but, as we all know when firearms are involved, it could easily have been a different story.
“People may notice an increased police presence in the surrounding area as we carry out our enquiries today and I would encourage anyone who feels they have information that can assist us to please approach one of our officers.”
