Detectives are appealing for information following an incident in Leeds where shots were fired.
On Monday night at approximately 10pm, police received reports of a number of shots having been fired at a car in the vicinity of Cross Roundhay Avenue, in Harehills.
Armed officers were deployed to secure the 26-year-old male victim, who had been sat in the parked car at the time but was uninjured. Damage to the victim's vehicle was confirmed as being consistent with a firearms discharge.
A silver Vauxhall Vectra, believed to have been used by the suspects, was found burned out yesterday in Servia Gardens,
Detective Chief Inspector Jaz Khan, of West Yorkshire Police Crime Protective Services, said "We believe this has been a targeted attack on the victim and we are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident. A number of shots have been fired at the victim's car while he was sitting in it and he could easily have been seriously injured. We will always treat the criminal use of firearms in our communities very seriously and will continue to do everything we can to identify and arrest the people involved in this incident.
Specialist officers from Protective Services Crime will be speaking to the victim and I would urge anyone in the community who has any information that could assist our enquiries to contact us either directly on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers."
