The public in West Yorkshire is being warned against a debit card scam that has been labelled “ridiculous” by authorities.
A letter - laden with spelling errors - has been circulated, advising people that Barclay’s bank cards could “catch fire” and should be sent, along with the PIN, to an address in India.
Jason Price, from West Yorkshire Police's cyber crime team, says the scam is "ridiculous” but warns people could still get caught out.
The letter claims the problem is due to a fault at a factory in "Molton Keynes".
