Police Investigate Spare Of Arsons In Bolton

Police are appealing for information after a spate of arsons in Bolton.

Between 15 October 2016 and 27 November 2016 there have been twelve arsons in Halliwell, with ten occurring on one street.

The latest incident happened shortly before 2.50am on Monday 28 November 2016 on Musgrave Road, Halliwell, when a marked police car was set on fire.

This follows a number of other incidents of bins and cars being set on fire.

An investigation has been launched and police believe the incidents may be linked.

Detective Inspector Daniel Brophy, of GMP’s Bolton division, said: “We are aware of a number of arsons in the area recently and have launched an investigation to get answers and find those responsible."

“I would like to assure people that we are working closely with the fire service and Bolton Council and are carrying out rigorous enquiries, as well as increasing patrols in the area.”
