    Network Rail clear away tonnes of rubbish left by fly-tippers

    Network Rail staff have cleared away large quantities of rubbish from areas around Bradford Forster Square station last weekend, including eight car tyres, three shopping trolleys and 21 one-tonne bags of rubbish in efforts to combat fly tipping.

    Also among the rubbish collected were eight car panels, a fridge and two safety barriers.

    Speaking on the two-day operation, Ian Puckrin, Head of Maintenance for Network Rail, said: "Fly-tipping is an ongoing national problem, and we recognise the impact it has on passengers and people who live near the railway."

    Further operations are scheduled to help clear rubbish from Dunston Curve near Bradford Interchange, which will run from Monday, November 4 to Friday, November 8.

    In addition, more work will be carried out around Bradford Forster Square on November 30, after vegetation has been cut back.
