
The Lord Mayor, Coun Joanne Dodds will be supported by the Dean of Bradford (The Revd Jerry Lepine) in leading a one minute silence today (Wednesday 23 March) at 11am in Centenary Square in memory of the victims of the terror attacks in Belgium.
The Union Flag and the Belgian tricolor are also flying at half-mast in Centenary Square.
Councillor Judith Blake, leader of Leeds City Council said:
“We are shocked and saddened by these attacks in Belgium, and would like to offer our deepest sympathies to all those affected by these truly terrible events. Our thoughts are with the people of Belgium at this very difficult time.
“A minute’s silence will be held before Wednesday’s council meeting as a mark of respect to all those people who lost their lives.”
