A Man has Appeared In Court After A Pensioner Stabbed In Chest

A 29-year-old man has appeared at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates court today after a 68 year old man was stabbed in his own home.

Hamid Mahmood, of no fixed address, is accused of unlawfully and maliciously wounding on May 20 with intent to do grievous bodily harm. Mahmood is also charged with stealing a wallet and a mobile phone.

Mahmood indicated not guilty pleas and was remanded in custody to next appear at Bradford Crown Court, on June 20, for pleas to be entered.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman confirmed the victim is now in a stable condition at Leeds General Infirmary. The alleged incident took place at around 6.45pm on Friday, May 20 in Harrogate Street, in the Peel Park area of the city.
