Man killed outside Oldham mosque named

A man who was stabbed to death in broad daylight outside of an Oldham mosque has been named.

At around 3.20pm on Friday 9 March, police were called to reports that a man was unconscious and not breathing on Waterloo Street, Oldham near to the junction of Greengate Street.

Officers attended and discovered a man, who has since been formally identified as 22-year-old Mohammed Nabeel Hassan, with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where he sadly died.

Greater Manchester Police say they are continuing to work with Mohammed Nabeel’s family and members of the public to establish exactly what happened in the minutes leading up to the fatal incident.

A 15-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man have been released under investigation whilst two men, aged 20 and 22, remain in custody for questioning.
