Leeds businesses demand bollards to stop ram-raids

Leeds businesses are calling for more safety measures to be put in place to prevent ram-raids.

There have been five attacks involving vehicles on premises in the city centre over the past 10 months, the latest on a Rolex store on Commercial Street.

The shopfront was damaged but the robbers were unable to gain entry and left empty handed.

The shop’s manager, Andrew Duffy, said more should be done, such as the introduction of bollards.

The council says barriers were up to stop large vehicles and it was looking at measures to restrict smaller ones.
