Leeds Bus Strike Cancelled

A proposed bus strike in Leeds that had been due to start tomorrow morning (July 26) has been cancelled.

Around 1,000 drivers and other members of staff at the operator, First had been scheduled to walk out at 2am on Tuesday but, following talks between First and the Unite Union, the strike has now been suspended.

There have already been three strikes by First this summer following arguments over levels of pay. Just 25% of First's services were operational during the strikes.

The company have said they will offer a revised pay package to its drivers through a workplace ballot in the second week of August.
