Labour MP Suspended Along With Bradford Councillor

Local Bradford MP Naz Shah who this afternoon stood up in the House of Commons to apologise after her earlier resignation as PPS to John McDonnell after social media posts in which she seemed to back the relocation of Israel to the US has now been suspended by Labour.

Bradford West Labour MP Naz Shah’s 2014 social media posting in which she shared a graphic which showed an image of Israel's outline superimposed on to a map of the US with the comment "problem solved" was highlighted by the Guido Fawkes website.

Labour said: "Jeremy Corbyn and Naz Shah have mutually agreed that she is administratively suspended from the Labour Party by the general secretary."

Sunrise Radio has asked the MP for a comment but has yet to receive a reply. In a development this afternoon her office worker and Bradford Councillor, Mohammed Shabbir who represents the Heaton ward has also been suspended over allegations of anti-semitic remarks made on social media.

Sunrise Radio contacted Mr Shabbir who declined to comment given that the party was investigating.
