A car dealership in Keighley has been fined over £53,000 after misleading customers on car sales.
Motorsure Limited – which trades under the name Motorhub at Damside, in Oakworth Road – was investigated by National Trading Standards following complaints from customers who had bought vehicles from the used-car company between August 2017 and May last year.
The investigation found that the business concealed quality and safety issues with the vehicles, including selling vehicles with disconnected dashboard warning lights to hide faults and failing to declare some vehicles had previously been taxis.
The company entered guilty pleas to six offences at York Magistrates’ Court in December and has now been fined £53,567 at Leeds Magistrates’ Court.
