With a true milestone anniversary fast approaching, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is asking for local people’s help to celebrate 70 years of the NHS.
The NHS turns 70 on 5 July this year, offering the perfect opportunity to celebrate the achievements of one of the nation’s most loved institutions.
As part of the local celebrations, the trust is hoping to find people who were born in Bradford on 5 July 1948 so they can be invited to a special event. The trust is also keen to collect copies of old photographs for social media and a display at Bradford Royal Infirmary and St Luke’s Hospital.
Professor Clive Kay, Chief Executive of the Trust, said: “This year is a wonderful opportunity for people to celebrate both the NHS and this organisation that we’re so proud of. Taking the time to appreciate all that our staff do and have done throughout the years to care for patients and ensure the smooth running of our hospitals and services, is hugely significant.
“We want local people with special connections to join us for a tea party on the day. Were you cared for by the NHS on 5 July 1948 or any time during that historic first year? Were you born locally on 5 July 1948 and will also be celebrating your 70th on 5 July?
“If so, we want to hear from you and join us to make this special day even more memorable.”
