Greater Manchester Police have made a further arrest in connection with a shooting in Bolton.
On Thursday 24 May, officers in Bolton arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder.
The arrest is in connection with a shooting that took place on Castle Street during a large disturbance involving a group of men on Sunday 20 May.
Later that night a man was admitted to Royal Bolton Hospital with a gunshot wound. He remains in hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
This is the fifth arrest made by detectives investigating the case after four men, aged 23, 23, 34 and 45, were arrested on Tuesday 22 May for firearms offences and violent disorder.
They have since been released under investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Bridge, of GMP’s Bolton borough, said: “Our investigation is continuing at a fast pace and we have made a further arrest, with a man in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.
“However, the hard work does not stop there and I want to continue to appeal to members of the public to contact us with any information they have, no matter how big or small this may be.
“Since this incident happened, we have been following numerous lines of enquiry but assistance from the public is key to finding all those involved in this shocking incident.”
