Firefighters have issued a warning to the public, urging them to take care when charging electrical items.
The most recent call for people to be wary of the manner in which they charge their devices comes after a fire broke out at a property on Glenholme Road in Girlington.
Firefighters from Bradford, Shipley and Fairweather Green were called to the scene on Glenholme Road, Girlington, at around 9.30pm yesterday after receiving a call explaining that a power pack, that was left to charge under a pillow, had ignited.
It is understood that the power pack had either overheated or failed, but the fire was mostly out before crews arrived. Nobody was hurt in the blaze.
Abid Qureshi, Watch Commander at Fairweather Green station, issued a warning following Monday night’s incident, saying: "Please never charge your electrical items on your bed or overnight!
"This fire was caused by a power bank which was left on charge under a pillow. Fortunately, the occupier was awake and called the fire service."
Following the fire, firefighters installed some smoke detectors at the property, and sent out a message emphasising their importance.
