Fire crews were called out to a property in Tong after a cigarette sparked a house fire.
A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said the cigarette caused the lounge curtains to catch fire, which then spread to furniture in the corner of the room.
No injuries have been reported.
The brigade has advised people to close doors at night to help contain fires and stop smoke spreading.
